英語會話圓桌

113-2 English Table, LTRC, NYCU

 

  • 活動宗旨:提升本校師生英語口語會話能力。
  • 活動師資:本校語言中心中、外籍教師。
  • 活動對象:本校學生。
  • 活動地點:線上/實體。
  • 活動方式:每桌限12位學生,依主桌老師規劃之主題,以講義或短片方式,進行全英語對話或討論。每次50分鐘。(線上為主,若標註實體則為實體圓桌,將另外寄信提醒。)
  • 活動時間:本學期第3週至第14週(國定假日、期中考週除外)。
  • 圓桌次數:每週上限5次,同一天同時段活動上限1次。
  • 活動預約:採Google表單線上預約方式,為避免造成因臨時取消或新增來不及更新的情況發生, 須於至少活動2-7日前預約,活動前1日不得取消。

  • 報到出席:限本人參加。實體活動請到綜合一館A525室(李麥德老師)/綜合一館505教室(吳思葦老師),開始前請填寫簽到表單,活動後填寫回饋問卷即可算一次出席,由工作人員上傳一次護照紀錄;線上圓桌請準時出席並於活動結束後填寫線上問卷,由工作人員上傳一次護照紀錄。
  • 違規停權:缺席、未於有效時間內取消圓桌預約者,將招致停權處分。
  1. 違規1次:不得預約及候補2個月內的各類活動。
  2. 違規2次以上:不得預約及候補該學期的各類活動。

Language Self-study Center provides free English Table service for students and faculty at NYCU. Each table lasts 50 minutes. The small-group speaking and listening practice sessions offered to groups of 12 students, provided by the LTRC instructors using self-designed materials on various topics to encourage students’ free, voluntary English practice. This service allows for interesting and culturally enlightening topics beyond those offered in the classroom in order to engage students in the wider world of the English.

English Tables Policies

Location: Online / in person table will be at Assembly Building room A525(Teacher Michael)/A505(Teacher Linda).

Time: Week 3 to 14. Please refer to the time table.

Approach: All English Table sessions are 1 on 12 activities which offer students opportunities to practice English. Each Table lasts 50 minutes. The table host will prepare different topics and handouts each time. To encourage beginners to join, there’s one basic-level table at noon or afternoon on Monday to Friday.

Number of Appointments: Each person can have a maximum of 5 appointments each week; a maximum of 1 appointment at the same time.

To Schedule an AppointmentAppointments are open to be scheduled on 10 a.m. one week before your preferred date.

Cancellations: If you need to cancel an appointment, you need to cancel it by e-mail no later than 12 a.m. the day before your scheduled session.

No Shows:

If you do not cancel an appointment in time, one violation will be recorded. The number of violations will be accumulated during the years that you study at NYCU and will result in the following punishment:

  • 1 violation: no appointments for 2 months
  • More than 2 violations: no appointments for 1 semester

If you join the in person table, before each session, please sign in at the counter. You need to fill out a survey after each session. If the table is online, please just fill out the online survey.

The center reserves the right to modify schedules and policies, if necessary.
